Swela
Acrylic fibres (polyacrylnitril) are used when making awning and boating fabrics. Of all related, modern fibres this synthetic fibre has the greatest stability with regard to the aggressive power of the sun. Whereas polyester, cotton, nylon and other fibres lose their tensile strength appreciably in the course of time, the reduction in the tensile strength of acrylic materials is very limited. Moreover polyacrylnitril - the basic raw material of the fibre - also prevents the dye from fading. This makes it possible to manufacture fabrics, which are able to show off their full range of colours for a particularly long time. As the first manufacturer of synthetic boat tarpaulins in Europe, Schmitz has had years of experience in boating fabrics and has designed the Swela 34 range of colours specifically for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
Swela has excellent colour fastness through spinneret-dyed fibres, long service life, excellent stability and tear-resistance, weatherproof and immune against rust, rot and insect feeding & bactericidal.
